It’s happened, I have no idea what I’m doing, or where I’m going.
Apparently this is part of the process of progressing. I am 11 weeks into my MA, plodding along happily, and then, boom, everything I thought I wanted to achieve has proven to be pretty superficial. A bit of delving, a lot of reading, looking and listening, and I feel like there is a shift happening.
As if by fate, I visited the Young Welsh Artists exhibition at MOMA Machynlleth, curated by Mari Elin Jones and Lloyd Roderick, and came across this artist statement that resonated deeply.
I admire that she has included this in her wall statement. It's so personal, and potentially could make her vulnerable, but I think it strengthens the work. Her process is the art.
