Currently at MOMA Machynlleth is an exhibition called ‘Flux’ by Steve Kingston. I worked with Steve when I was a researcher for Fflic Television Company. He was the cameraman (an excellent one at that), and we spent weeks on end travelling Wales, visiting interesting people’s homes for filming.
Walking into his exhibition was a complete delight. The colours, the large scale of the work, the interesting use of metal as surface, and the absolute joy I got from his colour and shape compositions. You need time to sit and soak them in, and the longer you absorb them the more you get out of them. This exhibition is exceptional and worth a visit.
