WORKSHOP

Without a doubt, my workshop is my happy place. There's no signal, it’s lovely and warm, and everything I need is in there (minus the sink, washing machine and hoover as distractions).

The workshop was my lockdown project, and I am incredibly lucky to have a very practical husband who could build it for me. I am one lucky person. It’s built in the hay loft of an agricultural shed that wasn’t being used. Everything I need is here, a table, chairs, a press, a storeroom full of art materials and a kettle.

Today I had my first full day in the workshop concentrating on my MA portfolio. Having an excuse to focus on my own artwork is what I wanted when I signed up for the MA.

I feel guilty working on my own art and doing exactly what I want instead of pictures to sell or commission, silly ey?!

My children are a constant inspiration.

These are studies of them 'getting lost' in something, or 'ymgolli' in welsh.
